Benzema Celebrates His Opener

Karim Benzema managed to score a goal as Real Madrid claimed a 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao which put Los Blancos on the top teams of La Liga.

In this football today’s news, we are detailing some of the recent achievements of the Spanish clubs competing in the recent season of La Liga.

The French Prodigy

As Carlo Ancelotti’s squad went on a winter break and intended to end the year with glorious wins, the Spanish club is unstoppable. Previously, they defeated their city rival Atletico Madrid in a derby match on December 13 with 2-0 points.

Conversely, their city rival Atletico Madrid were ending the year on a somber note as they faced their fourth upset in a row, with their 2-1 match against Granada.

In a few minutes, Benzema tried not to let The Lions score, while Oihan Sancet scoured the pitch in a quick manner and at the same time trying to avoid Thibaut Cortois.

The French athlete managed to score his 14th and 15th goals for the season and these were enough to cement his position as one of the top-scorers in the La Liga goal-scoring list.

Atletico’s Defeat From Granada

Previously, Aletico’s attempt to defend their championship crown was disrupted by the absence of Stefan Savic and Antoine Griezmann, due to sustained injuries which put a heavy blow on the performance of the Spanish club.

It would have been a happy turn if Atletico managed to win against Granada for which it would have been a third victory in a row that their home supporters can witness and their fifth match without an upset.

This wasn’t the kind of scenario that Diego Simeone has envisioned in his 10th anniversary of being a coach to Atletico Madrid.

Atletico’s striker Joao Felix managed to score a goal for Atletico in the second minute which put the club in front of the competition. However, Granada managed to strike back at the 18th minute when Venezuelan player Darwin Machis managed to strike for Granada and landed on Jan Oblak’s net.

Felix seemed to score before the half time, but only to be ruled out as a contentious foul in favor of Machis. Granada dominated the second half with Jorge Molina putting on a nice finish for the Nazaries.

The Madrid Derby

On December 13, the long-awaited Madrid Derby had a decisive ending to the recent clash between city rivals Atletico and Real.

In the 16th minute, Karim Benzema managed to strike for Real, along with the aid of Vinicius Junior, the French striker got past the defenses of Atletico’s goalie Jan Oblak to secure his 13th goal for the season.

Both the goals of Karim Benzema and Marco Asencio put Real Madrid on the top of the La Liga’s best of the season and ended the Madrid Derby with a 2-0 victory against Atletico.

The ex-Lyon striker is now one goal left to complete his 300th goal for Atletico, he is now one of the few of Madrid’s hall-of-famers with the likes of Raul, Alfredo di Stefano and Cristiano Ronaldo to produce such feats.

The sports pundits who วิเคราะห์บอล described the feat as unstoppable and called Benzema “The French Juggernaut.”
